Falling In Love With New Products..
As a blogger I am constantly asked how I can possibly try out all the products I receive. The reality is that I have either heard very good things or I am intrigued by the compesition and ingredients of a product.
I talk so much about products that I like the look of but I really wanted to share with you today the products I've fell head over heels for in the past few months.
For anyone who doesn't like overly heavy moisturisers and suffers with blemishes. On the surface, the gel formula is incredibly lightweight so doesn't feel like it's clogging any pores. It's also very calming on the skin and eradicates any redness before applying your makeup. Behind the scenes, the moisturiser contains Alpha-Linoleic Acid which is derived from Lingonberry Seed Oil. This kick-ass ingredient lightens hyperpigmented blemish scars and rehydrates tight, uncomfortable skin which occurs when you have a lot of blemishes (you know the feeling).
Another super calming product that I love is the Pai Camellia and Rose cleanser. I think I might be on my third or fourth bottle of this stuff and have got so many people hooked. From the very first second you use it, the camellia oil gets to work. It relaxes the skin and reduces all redness leaving you with baby soft skin that's completely hydrated.
Charlotte Tilbury Highlight and Contour
For those of us that like to get ready with no fuss. The highlight and contour products come in little tubes which make them really easy to take when you travel and all you have to do is squeeze out a little amount and apply directly to your skin. You could even blend with your fingers. The highlight is so light reflecting, glowy and really highlights (duh) all the focal points in your face.
The contour is a deep brown that isn't too dark for pale old me and has no tint of orange in it. However, my tube is a little messy around the applicator as quite a lot comes out.
They retail for £29.00 each and are a must have for anyone who struggles with contouring or just wants something a little more subtle.
When you're a pale gal, finding a bronzer that doesn't completely make you an umpa lumpa is one of life's biggest struggles.
Not only are Hourglass products the best packaged products on the market, they're also amazing for pale women and men.
I use the Ambient Lighting bronzer in the shade Nude Bronze Light. It's a real pick-me-up, especially on dull skin days. It has absolutely no shimmery effects running through it which means it's definitely on the matte side. However, it does have a combination of dark and light pigments which together create a subtle glow all over your face.
I also love using it on my eyelids as an eyeshadow since I have extremely oily lids and this just dries them out a little whilst adding a nice brown hue. (Lauren's tip of the day)
Perricone MD No Makeup Makeup Foundation
To be honest, the whole Perricone MD No Makeup makeup range is genius, but that is for a another post. At this point I want to talk to you about the foundation. If you like lightweight, barely there foundation then this is for you. Whilst some of those foundations have low coverage, this somehow manages to really smooth out all imperfections meaning you just need a touch of concealer to complete your look.
The foundation is really glossy and quite tacky in places which means that it actually stays on your skin a lot longer. This feature also gives your complexion a dewy look which I absolutely love. On top of that, the foundation has SPF 30 inside. This is something I always look out for in my foundations.
Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipsticks
Bite beauty are basically the only lip products you need. Sadly, they aren't in the UK yet but I'm pretty sure you can ship them from Sephora. I love all of my Bite Beauty products but the Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipsticks are utter perfection.
- They glide on seamlessly and are fully opaque with just one coat.
- They last for hours.
- They are the ideal combination of glossy and matte at the same time.
- They are incredibly moisturising.
Le Labo Charcoal Mask
Now everyone should know that I am a huge Le Labo fan and pretty much worship their perfume collection.
But with that being said, I was actually quite sceptical of the face and body collection they've brought out. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the whole collection, but the charcoal mask was a standout for me.
Charcoal masks are something that everyone should invest in. Their detoxifying qualities are so amazing for the skin and on top of that, they just look super cool.
Over the years I've really struggled to find the perfect charcoal mask, as a lot of them use a very small percentage of kaolin. Kaolin is a porous soft clay, which when used in cosmetics cleanses and exfoliates the skin cells. Because it is so porous, it absorbs all the excess oil and water in the skin. When used too much, this product can be really drying, but Le Labo have combined it with radish seed and bitter almond to create a rich, creamy formula that is so luxurious to use. OH, and it also smells like a cherry bakewell thanks to that almond ingredient.
There are so many products that I could praise but I just wanted to give you an insight into what I'm really loving at the moment. Would you want to see a monthly favourites as new products come in? And have you tried any of these?
