Monthly beauty favourites
Spring is the time where I like to mix up my everyday makeup routine and try a number of different products. The longer days and airy nights leave my skin feeling so much more refreshed making it easier to try new products without having breakouts to ruin my opinion. March saw me trying out a number of different products that I have since fell in love with. First up is my new favourite blusher from Benefit. I've tried Dandelion before in my early teens (when I had no clue what I was doing) and did always love it. But since trying it this month, I've noticed how much it can brighten and open up your complexion. Using it not only on the apples of my cheeks but also along my nose and around my temples to act somewhat like a highlighter. It's such a subtle peachy pink colour that glistens when caught in direct sunlight making it the perfect accompaniment to a dewy foundation look.
I saw such a big hype around Benefit's RollerLash in February, especially after everyone got a sample in the March issue of Elle UK and I just assumed that people were following the crowd. Benefit's 'They're Real' mascara is one of my holy grail products and I didn't think anything could beat it, but RollerLash is on another level. (The two together are the biggest dream team) 'They're real' provides the volume and thickness that you look for whilst RollerLash gives your lashes extreme length and curl - to the point where my lashes practically reach my brows. So if you're yet to jump on the bandwagon, I highly suggest you do.
Aesop is probably the most beautiful brand around. From their shops, to the packaging, the scent, and the ingredients used, they have everything down to a T. I recently started using their famous B & Tea balancing toner after my usual cleansing regime and the results have been out of this world. I didn't realise how important it was to use a toner, but you quickly see how much makeup your cleanser doesn't actually remove. It also acts as a barrier against bacteria whilst you're in bed and leaves your skin super tight and full of moisture the following morning. Since using it, I haven't had any breakouts and its even helped combat a shiny t-zone.
Along with the whole of Twitter, I grabbed my sample of the Burberry Kisses. I chose the colour Military Red as I'm on the market for a new red lip. Firstly, the packaging. Is perfect. With the signature Burberry checked pattern across both the case and the actual lipstick itself makes this lipstick stand out even more to me. The actual lipstick itself is super moisturising (in the beginning) and leaves a glossy finish. I do find that it dries out your lips after a couple of hours but if you just top up with a bit of lip balm then the colour lasts throughout the day. It's a beautiful pinky red which is my favourite - a little bit darker but very similar to Tom Ford's Flamingo.
Keep an eye out for my Blonde Aftercare post coming soon! xx
