Kurt Geiger SS15 'You had me at aloha'
It may have been cold outside but at Kurt Geiger’s press preview, there wasn’t a sign of winter in sight. The event was hosted at Portobello Road’s Electric Cinema, where Kurt Geiger had provided everything a girl could need to forget her winter woes, complete with hula dancers, half-naked men in grass skirts, piña coladas in coconut cups and, of course, rows of shoes. Creative Director, Rebecca Farrar-Hockley has taken her inspiration from fiery skies, blue waters and sandy beaches. She has created a collection that is flirty, fun and colourful in shades of fuchsia, orange and yellow neon, as well as funky floral and animal patterns. Multiple types of materials were on display including snakeskin, mesh, suede and sequin, whilst in style sexy stilettos with thin metal heels, open-toe ankle strap stilettos and thick sole brogues reigned.
My personal wardrobe doesn’t contain much in ways of colour (unless you count black, white and grey), so I understand if, like me, you prefer a monochrome pallet. Luckily, Kurt Geiger has also created the Tiarella Black - a pointy kitten heel with a striped snakeskin design.
And let’s not forget the accessories. Choose from a selection of totes in a variety of sizes and colours such as coral, blush and yellow neon, crossbody bags in monochrome shades, pouches, mini wallets and passport holders (just in case you decide to get yourself a real taste of Hawaii)
