House of Fraser Press Day SS15

Sometimes you want that little touch of luxury when off shopping, and when I think luxury shops House of Fraser is one that springs to mind. So I was super excited for the House Of Fraser SS15 preview - if you got a sneak peak at new pieces from the likes of Lulu Guinness and Biba, you would be too!

The event was held at their headquarters and after a warm welcome I was led up to the showroom where I was met with a wall of colour and Taylor Swift’s 1989 playing on repeat! The atmosphere was very relaxed, meaning we could amble round in our own time and take it all in without being rushed. The clothes were set out by designers and collections, ranging from Ralph Lauren paint-splattered trousers to Adrianna Papell floral gowns. A waiter supplied us with fruit spritzers as well as the most adorable miniature macaroons, scones and cupcakes.

The one thing I loved as well was the fact they had taken our blogger needs into consideration, for instance by creating a photo area for us, where we could hang items on a ladder to make taking photos easier.

The collections had me getting all excited for summer already, with neons, sequins and crazy geometric patterns. A soft neon jumper from Label Lab would be the perfect spring cover-up, while the Dickins & Jones rail had my heart aflutter with ditsy prints, embellished collars and Jackie O inspired dresses and coats. Pied A Terre showed that the twosie love is continuing into SS15 with a stunning orange top and skirt set.

I always adore the Biba collections, and I wasn’t disappointed! My top picks were the monochrome circle coat, leather biker jackets and blue and gold and an adorable mint stalk patterned shirt!

The bags definitely held their own with monochrome beauties from Biba, Pied A Terre and Hugo Boss. Lulu Guinness’s bags always captivated me and her lipstick and headphone clutches certainly did the trick! There was also a stunning Matthew Williamson monochrome tassled clutch that would set you back at least £700 (but worth every penny) and Vivienne Westwood snakeskin totes and chain bags. The Orla Kiely flower bags lit up the room while sitting neatly next to neon Moschino handbags and cute Therapy bow purses.

The menswear didn’t disappoint either; there were definitely items that I was drooling over including a Religion heart pattern shirt and a square block pattern jumper from Paul Smith. So you may find me in the menswear at House of Fraser as well as the womenswear next summer!
