One for the Christmas list: Luxurious lingerie from Agent Provocateur

I am a firm believer that every woman should own a luxurious lingerie set that makes her feel sexy and confident, which is why I was more than pleased to visit the Agent Provocateur shop on Grosvenor street in Mayfair for a blogger party last week.

The event was held to showcase the new holiday collection, which includes pieces from the AP range specially selected for Christmas, such as elegant jewel-green silk satin sets, saucy red lace items and lots of other pieces perfect for a cosy night in front of the fire (or in my case, in front of the radiator).

If you’re not a fan of Christmas, fear not, for the store is filled with goodies of all kinds. Great Gatsby enthusiasts will appreciate the Soiree collection, which features frills, beaded tassels, gold fabrics and Swarovski crystals. Those of you looking for something to spice things up might like the Akiko Playsuit; far from your ordinary playsuit, it comprises of rows of coloured chains and crystals draped over your body. Throw in some glitzy nipple tassels if you’re feeling shy!

The event was a success, with lots of bloggers attending such as sisters Reem and Natalya (, Olivia ( and Kristabel (, along with plenty of others. A model showcased some of the incredible pieces, whilst we sipped on Whiskey cocktails and I tried to resist the urge to eat too many duck liver pâté and chocolate truffle canapés. Safe to say, I felt like I’d landed in heaven.

But it gets better. Each blogger was given the opportunity to choose a piece from the Holiday collection including my very, very lucky self. A friendly and skilled AP sales assistant, who measured my cup size by simply looking at my bust and waist, pulled out a mouth-watering bra set called Demelza, which includes an ultra-fine Bobbinet tulle bra with criss-crossing rouleaux silk bindings and Sophie Hallette lace motifs, matching low-slung knickers and the Pièce de résistance (and AP speciality) curved front, high-waisted, diamond shape panelled suspenders. This set is actually from the Classic range but I was advised it would be a better fit for my body type. I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to look at a Topshop bra again.

Customers get the full treatment at AP and most are wealthy women in their 20s and 40s, who come in and spend a few hours in the store, choose an assortment of items and enjoy a few cocktails. Men are allowed to lounge in the changing room, so couples can also shop together. There’s even a little glass trolley with what I’m sure is some very expensive whiskey.

The fabric quality and fit is definitely worth the money, so if you’ve got the money, AP is definitely worth a visit. If you, like myself, aren’t quite ready to splurge just yet, then take out a pen and paper (or open your email inbox). It’s time to write a Christmas gift list.
