Snacking revolution: Popchips review*

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset The UK LOVES snacking, right?! I know I'm very guilty of having a few snacks a day. But with the constant media coverage of diets, skinny celebrities and the 'ideal weight', it's pretty hard to love snacking these days. I was contacted by the lovely people at Popchips to trial their new take on crisps. Yes, they are American so are naturally called 'chips' but in the UK, they are definitely crisps. Popchips are never fried or baked. They are popped. It took me a while to get my head around this concept but when you think about the way popcorn is popped, as are popchips. I've never been pulled into the concept of low fat crisps as they're always lacking flavour and therefore lacking enjoyment. But nevertheless, I gave these popchips a go.

I was sent a box of them in different flavours; Original, sour cream & onion, sea salt & vinegar, salt & pepper and barbeque. So me and my parents got to sampling them. I have to say that I was so surprised by how much flavour they'd packed into these low fat crisps - 100 calories, by the way. Also, the pack was really full. I find with brands like Walkers that you pay for a big bag and are actually given about five crisps. Overall, I think these crisps are a great concept. All the flavours were delicious, but in particular the salt & pepper and barbeque.

I can't get enough of these at the moment, I find them the perfect pick-me-up after lunch. You can get them in most stores at the moment including Boots, Tesco, Starbucks and WHSmith. And you can also find out more on their website -
