Giorgio Armani AW14 press day

I had the pleasure of taking myself down to Howick Place, (Armani's new building after moving from Brompton Road), on behalf of Naked Fashions to have a peak at their new collections ready for when Autumn and Winter creep back upon us. Too soon? I know it barely even feels like spring has arrived yet, let alone summer, however in the fashion world spring and summer are long gone. I must admit, as much as I love getting my summer on, especially with this years amazing trends, I am a sucker for a big fluffy coat and a beanie.

On arrival I headed straight to Giorgio Armani, where we all know contains a more tailored, smart array of beautiful suits and extravagant dresses, and this season did not beg to differ. This years collection is named “Fade To Grey” which as you can see, is pretty self explanatory as the majority of this range consisted on a mixture between light grey shades with hints of lime. Out of the Giorgio outfits, these two stunning cropped blazers with matching straight-leg trousers were definitely a favourite of mine! The beautifully woven fabrics just gave that winter edge to a classic women's suit. Also the lime still makes an appearance in the silk pockets and trims, yet its is done very subtly, which I’m quite a fan of!

Texture and detailing is looking to be a big trend for this years A/W seasons, and in both the Giorgio and Emporio collections, this was used effortlessly, my favourite being this beautiful fur coat. Again keeping to the theme of green and grey, this whole assemble of textures was paired beautifully with a pair of patent and snakeskin heels, both of which seemed to be recurring trends set for next season.

Moving on to Emporio women, there was definitely a more young and edgy vibe going on! The greens and greys turned to more blues and blacks, my favourite item being the cropped feathered coat that could be teamed perfectly with any pair of jeans and a cute clutch. Speaking of clutches... there was a wide variety on show keeping to the patent materials, making any outfit just that little bit more classy!

Lastly beading. But not just any beading. The way in which Armani's collection worked in the small pearl-like beads into their Emporio designs was amazing! It wasn't too OTT or too subtle. Pure perfection.

The intricate placing of each bead on this boyish-styled suit is simply fab! Paired with what I can only describe as a Pharrell inspired hat, this outfit is just incredible and really emphasises the boy-like styles that will be coming back in women’s collections this winter.

After looking at the men's collections also, I thought I just had to show everyone! Similarly to women's, I spotted fur used on numerous items in men's clothing, big fur coats, fur trousers and even fur shoes. Yes shoes! These amazing fur Dr. Martin style boots really caught my eye as I’ve never seen anything like it before! Next to them some beautiful 80's style loafers, which even I can see myself wearing, let alone the men. It was very clear that the dominant colours used for men were browns, maroons and yet again, grey!
