Brides The Show at Battersea Park
It’s fair to say that I was slightly apprehensive to visiting the Bride Show this weekend as a) I’m not a bride to be and b) I’ve never actually been to a wedding (although I have watched an incredible amount of wedding chic flicks) however, there was no reason to fret. The Bride Show, hosted by Conde Nast - the publishing giant for the fashion bible, Vogue - was a decadent exhibition presenting anything a budding bride, or groom, could wish for.
The entrance had been decked out with flowers, trees and an outdoor sitting area indoors, complete with garden furniture and a white picket fence – a magical dream come true. Models were posing on podiums in luxurious dresses whilst guests enjoyed a glass of champagne and munched away on healthy salads (obviously ensuring they fit into the perfect dress by the wedding date).
There was a stand for everything - wedding dresses; veils; wedding cards; decorations; table arrangements; flowers; cakes - you name it, someone was trying to sell it. Many a young woman were joined by their mums and friends, with some grooms thrown in for good measure, all sampling products and deciding what to book for the big day.
There’s no doubt that Condé Nast and Brides Magazine know how to host an exhibition. We got lost in the magical land they had created at Battersea Evolution in Battersea Park. If you’re getting married, you should have attended the Bride Show. Not to worry, that’s why we’re here for you. Take a look at mesmerizing lacy dresses and enchanting meringue cakes, among much more, below.
