LFW: Mark Fast
The Mark Fast show was all about bold and punchy knits, exploring different shapes and colours such as day-glo orange, plum, cobalt blue and tomato red that brightened up a rather rainy day in London.
Eveningwear was grown-up edgy with frayed edges and refreshing beading alongside big dressing-gown inspired pieces with zigzag designs. The big shapes allowed movement, and showed that layering knits can be sexy! Longer lengths were also played out in floor-length ribbed knits, pencil dresses, tapered trousers and eye-catching twin-sets. His famous body-con knits were also more structured in this collection, which made them slouchy yet sophisticated. There was some skin on show too, with racerback and one shouldered dresses.
There were also a strong set of crop tops, showing that the midriff isn’t going anywhere for AW14. Inspiration for the collection came from city lights and busy streets. The pieces were teamed with some little black socks and dreamy rose gold creepers that had everyone questioning…are platforms making a comeback?! Beauty wise, hair and makeup were kept natural and youthful, with flawless makeup by Bare Minerals and beautiful ‘teenage girl’ braids by Tigi that were textured yet romantic. The ‘frow’ had some impressive occupants too, including Nicola Roberts, Peaches Geldof, Eliza Doolittle and Marina Diamandis.
