LCM: Alexander McQueen AW14

AlexanderMcQueen is known for their darker designs, and this year is no exception. The boys sported ghostly make up, and the clothes seemed to match their darkly made up faces. Black tailored suits, long trench style coats and black and white print t-shirts were the main style of garment showcased, all with the classic McQueen edge.

Leather, a fabric we’ve already seen lots of this week, also played a part in the McQueen show, with double breasted calf length coats, as well as a shorter more classic shapes.

Light knit woollen jumpers were also a feature of the McQueen show, exclusively in the colours black white and grey, with simple geometric patterns.

The show was striking and the McQueen team used their signature style to update some classic tailoring, with slim cut double breasted suit jackets and structured trousers.

Among the masculine tailoring appeared the occasional more feminine cut, with layering of tartan skirts over matching trousers in a suit style ensemble.

Over all McQueen kept the colours simple, with splashes of gold and pink acting as an embellishment to the overall designs.
