LFW: Manolo Blahnik SS14
The Spanish footwear king has done it once again. In true Blahnik style, each pair of elegant heels is uniquely detailed; both in colour and adornments.
Presented in the luxurious setting of the Covent Garden Hotel, Blahniks collection featured his trademark skinny stiletto heel, in as always, a myriad of colours.
With pointed toes and an exquisite attention to detail; from carefully ruched sides to contrast stitching, this collection is as elegant as ever. A key design featured at the presentation was the element of monochrome. From contrast toe brogues to intricate embroidery on the straps, this simple, delicate yet intriguing use of monochrome allows the shows to speak, and will complement the monochrome fashion trend perfectly.
Taking inspiration from the rich and luxurious décor of old English manor houses, it was clear that Blahnick wanted this collection to be as glamorous and traditional as possible. One key example of this was found in a beautiful pair of satin, pointed toe stilettos. The satin, in a pale, almost faded red was given a hint of richness through carefully placed burnt orange tassels down the centre of the foot.
There truly is a pair of shoes for everyone, and indeed every style in this stunning presentation collection.
