A palette of soft, candy-pastel blues, pinks and yellows was balanced by jet black, with black trousers, jackets and the cutesy little black neck tie which gave many of the outfits a feminine twist.
Sixties patterns, reminiscent of kaleidoscopic formations, adorn the peachy, loose, v-necked top and coordinating trousers, whilst the cloudy blue mini dress in the same pattern is flirty yet refined. Meanwhile, another sixties-inspired pattern is suggestive of clouds, with the relaxed colour palette evoking a dreamy yet electric feel.
But it was the metallic foil minisand dazzling, deep-V, disco sequin dresses layered on top of mere cotton tees that were the real showstoppers. Metallics, satins, and sequins laced through the show made this one to remember. Stars are big, too.
Clearly, laidback tailoring is in for SS14. Trouser-jacket combos are dressed down with sneakers, revisiting the street look that the likes of Cara Delevingne have so famously made big this, and indeed last, season. Dress your sequins and satin down and get disco chic for SS14. Top it all off with a colour-pop, electric blue eye and a cutesy yet tough neck tie, and there you have it: the Marc by Marc Jacobs look.
