Cleverly combining the masculine shapes of the cropped jackets alongside feminine elements like flowing shapes, Marissa Webb uses bold colours to stand out whilst hitting key trends for SS14. Whilst the combination of different textures from leather to silk, to a netted skirt could seem quite adventurous for someone coming into her third season, Webb embodied this adventure throughout her collection. For example, tweed mixed with leather, creating harsh textures contrasting to the soft, plunging silk neck lines. Introducing a few prints into the mix, they are colourful and almost galactic looking for a fun twist to the collection, paired with ties and cropped boucle jackets to add a touch of masculine quality without being overbearing. Whether it be netted, or layered with silk you can see Webb is a fan of the mini for SS14 but also a woman who likes her shapes including fitted waists and falling silhouettes, the collection takes ready-to-wear to a whole new level.
