August bank holiday weekend in London

With a gloomy start to the bank holiday weekend I have put together a few ideas that will brighten up your spirits. image

First up is the world famous Notting Hill Carnival - looking at pictures alone can boosts your spirits and make you want to get involved.

Starting in 1964, the carnival has been one of the most anticipated weekends in the London calendar. Make sure to get there in good time so you don't miss the exuberant colours and festivities of the fully-feathered parade.

The parade starts at 9am from Great Western Road down to Ladbroke grove and is a must-see this weekend.

HayDaze Weekender:

image Proud Camden have dedicated there stables, terrace and gallery space to be converted and transformed into an amazing environment this weekend.

A market, performers, bands and stalls including vinyl stores, vintage and a tie-dye workshop means you won't run out of things to do in Camden this bank holiday.

Running from August 24th-26th from 1pm-8pm the event is free.

Another Camden treat comes from the man made Camden beach:

After a great success last year, Camden Beach is back for the Summer as the English sun continues to beam down on us. This little ‘paradise’ attracted over 40,000 visitors last year and they want the same this time round! In the heart of North London, prepare to be surrounded by tonnes of sand, deckchairs, live music, ping pong, cocktails and tasty food.

The beach will include a Ben and Jerry’s ice cream van, Tiki bar, Bubba’s BBQ and a Fishy business fish pop-up with everything from mussels to classic fish and chips.

12pm – 11pm FREE ENTRY

If that wasn’t enough, the lovely people at Roundhouse have an amazing line up of little treats in store. They’ve also partnered with menswear brand Farah Vintage to present live music every friday night. A new exciting addition to the beach is the ‘Camden Beach pier’ which will house amusements, tuck shops and even an arcade.

Let's hope the weather perks up for you Londoners!
