Kicking off Couture week last night was the wonderful, glamourous Versace.
“I started this Atelier Versace collection by dreaming about the perfect aesthetic of the black-and-white era. I wanted to make it new, and pictured a sexy and sophisticated woman with a strong attitude,” said Versace of her inspiration.
Naomi Campbell opened and closed the show and there was a warm audience eager to see her back on the catwalk; This was the first time in 15 years she'd walked for Versace and her first catwalk appearance since she was violently attacked in Paris earlier this year.
“Only a true icon like Naomi Campbell could open this show,” said Versace.
The collection was true Versace, always opulent and sexy. Dresses were slashed and cropped, full of lace and hefty embellishments including copious amounts of diamonds! - exactly what we would expect from a couture show by Donatella.
