With London Fashion Week over I like looking into the fine details of certain designers: This season saw footwear brand Converse unite with Fashion East at London Fashion Week. Fashion East is a non-profit initiative established by the Old Truman Brewery to nurture and develop young designers through the early stages of their career. Along with the help of mentor Lulu Kennedy, the Fashion East designers Ashley WIlliams, Claire Barrow and Ryan Lo showcased their AW13 collections on Monday 18th at Tate Modern.
The young, aspiring designers used Converse's iconic Chuck Taylor as their canvas and inflicted their own visions on them to add depth and an artistic flare to their collections.
Clair Barrow embellished the Converse with metal toe caps and paint finishes, Ryan Lo took an innocent, colourful approach with pastel colours and ribbons laces whilst Ashley Williams went all American and designed her collection around the great Elvis Presley, adorning her Chuck Taylor's with dark colours and punchy slogans.
Every Chuck Taylor used in the Fashion East Runway is now available so you don't have to wait till AW13. See the complete Fashion East shows here
